Mason Gizard is the founder of Voices Rising Consulting, a leader in trauma-informed leadership, youth empowerment, and community-driven change. With over a decade of experience in youth advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and program development, Mason has dedicated his career to creating spaces where young people can thrive, feel heard, and access opportunities for success.

Mason's passion for working with youth stems from both professional and lived experience. As a former foster youth, an adoptive parent, and a mentor to countless young people, he understands firsthand the barriers that marginalized youth face. His work has centered on breaking down those barriers by equipping educators, nonprofits, and community organizations with practical, research-based strategies for trauma-informed care, leadership development, and workforce readiness.

In addition to his consulting work, Mason is a published author, using storytelling as a tool for advocacy and social change. His book, Dad in a Day: When My Mom’s Kids Became My Own, offers a deeply personal account of stepping into the role of a parent overnight, highlighting the complexities of foster care, adoption, and resilience. Through his writing and speaking engagements, Mason continues to inspire individuals and organizations to build more inclusive, supportive environments for young people.

Mason has led major initiatives in youth workforce development, program evaluation, and community engagement, partnering with organizations across the California to design and implement trauma-informed systems of support. His expertise in leadership training, and youth-led programming has made a lasting impact on the schools, nonprofits, and government agencies he has worked with.
